2019 Trek 520

The 520 has been in the Trek lineup since the early ’80s—and just like the first one, the all-new edition is built for the long haul

Front and rear racks, a road-smoothing steel frame, and tour-ready geometry make it your perfect companion for daily rides, multi-day adventures, and even coast-to-coast trips.

If you look at the 2019 TREK 520 you will notice that it has gained a 15kg-capacity Bontrager front rack and a much lower bottom gear — the all-important one — compared with the 2018 model. Next, you might notice that they changed from bar-end shifters to more familiar Sora STI levers.

Trek’s original 520 was lugged, whereas today’s model has a neatly TIG-welded Chromoly steel frame. It comes with an alloy thru-axle fork and the rear wheel has a standard quick-release.

This is a promessing bike if you want to go far and you still will use it to commute or just for a saturday afternoon fun ride. Trek set a price from $1679. We would not be surprised if you find the bike for less than $1500.
